Uncategorizabibble...

Sometimes I go into the Home Depot looking for something, and I just can't think which aisle they would put it in. And then there's sometimes that they stock stuff in weird places that I don't understand. They must have a team of engineers working on these things, otherwise it would all make sense. But really, sometimes there just isn't a category for what you're looking for, or for what you have to say...

Take this little link for instance:

Now maybe I would have chosen to place it in "PETS" as well, maybe not, but it struck me a bit funny.

Oh, American Me...

I was just reminding of how typically American I am the other night when I was filling out some personal info for a download. I was pretty ticked off that I actually had to scroll down and find "United States" in the list of countries. I actually thought it should be at the top of the list, we are so special...

I guess it was just a taste of life as a dude from Uganda.

Now I'm just offended at myself.

Only in Homeschool...

Here is a curious example of my children's artwork. Currently learning about ziggurats, the tower of Babel, ancient culture, etc. my "dark one" as I like to call her, produced an altar complete with slain human sacrifice. Note the tell-tale juvenile reality alteration: blood is green, altar is purple, but the person is white. I don't know what that means. But being the emcouraging father I am I did say "Wow, Em, that's a really great human sacrifice."

She'd probably be in therapy if she was in public school. Maybe we'll work on toning it down a bit before she hits that point...

A Footing for Kingdom Thinking

"Man was created to know God. Every fact in the universe speaks of its creator and is open for us to discern. In addition, the image of God in us means that we know ourselves only as we know God, and know God only as we know ourselves. God's eternal power and divine character can be discerned from nature, which includes humankind. Man in the image of God communicates by word, and this reflects the fact that God is one who communicates by word. The first word of God to man indicated the relationship that God established between himself and man and between man and the rest of creation. (Gen. 1:28-30). God spoke to Adam and told him what he needed to know about himself and his relationship to God. Thus, every word from God to man interprets the meaning of reality."

Graeme Goldsworthy explains the basis for Christian Theism in his book "According to Plan".
